I founded Altered Athletics in 2019, inspired by my own journey of transformation. In high school, I struggled with substance abuse, but everything changed when I discovered the power of fitness. The false confidence I once sought in drugs and alcohol was replaced by genuine self-assurance, forged through daily dedication in the gym and a commitment to taking control of my health and life.

This profound shift not only led me to become a world-ranked powerlifter but also to earn a bachelor's degree in Fitness & Wellness, coach strength and conditioning in Australia, and travel to 17 countries documenting fitness around the globe. Ultimately, it fueled my passion to become a certified personal trainer and gym owner.

At Altered Athletics, my mission is to empower every woman who steps through our doors to gain the confidence they deserve. Fitness has the power to change lives, and I'm here to help each woman discover that potential within herself.

I'm Bela Koebert, and I've been an athlete my whole life. With over 15 years of experience as a competitive cheerleader and more than three years dedicated to fitness in the gym, my journey to becoming a personal trainer has been fueled by a deep passion for inspiring others. My goal is to help women create a lifestyle that prioritizes self-love, confidence, and strength.

I understand firsthand how transformative fitness can be. The gym has saved me, positively impacting my life mentally, physically, and spiritually. Outside of the gym, you'll find me spending time with my dog Chanel, hanging out with friends, or planning my next trip, with a goal to visit all seven continents! I look forward to making an impact in each and every one of your fitness journeys.

My name is Sharon McKenna and I am originally from Red Bluff California. My love for nutrition and fitness was a gift given to me by my sport coaches growing up. My coaches were strong independent women who showed me weightlifting can be for anybody at any point in their life. I decided to run with this passion and make it a career. As a certified trainer and nutrition coach I am always striving to give clients the best possible experience as well as fill them with knowledge on how to become not just physically but mentally strong athletes. I'm excited to expand my knowledge, grow as a person, grow as a trainer and create amazing memories Altered Athletics!

With 13 years of ballet training starting in childhood, I developed a strong foundation in discipline, strength, and body awareness. My fitness journey took an exciting turn when my mom introduced me to powerlifting, sparking a passion for strength that inspired me to earn a Bachelor's in Sports Science from Arizona State University.

Now, as a personal trainer, I'm committed to helping women lift heavy, build confidence, and redefine their relationship with fitness. Whether you're just starting out in strength training or ready to elevate your routine, my mission is to empower you to embrace your strength—inside and out. Hi, I'm Jen Angel! I started my fitness journey as a high-level gymnast, training and competing for 10 years before moving into coaching competitive gymnastics for over 12 years. That foundation gave me a strong eye for movement, body awareness, and technique, which naturally led me into personal training.

Alongside my background in gymnastics, I also have broad experience in one-on-one assisted stretching, helping clients improve flexibility, mobility, and overall recovery. With 5 years of experience teaching strength training and group fitness, I help people move better, feel stronger, and build confidence in and out of the gym! I'm all about making fitness approachable, effective, and something you can actually enjoy while getting results!

My name is Sydney Prestia! I am originally from San Diego, CA, but I grew up in Gilbert, AZ. As a former collegiate soccer player with 18 years of experience on the field, fitness and discipline have always been a part of my life. However, it wasn't until I completed the 75 Hard Challenge in July 2024 that I truly discovered a deep passion for the gym, health, and overall wellness. That journey transformed not just my body, but also my mindset, and it sparked a new purpose in me beyond competitive sports.

Seeing the powerful impact that fitness had on my own life inspired me to become a Certified Personal Trainer, with a special focus on helping women build strength—physically and mentally. I believe every woman deserves to feel confident, capable, and empowered, and my mission is to guide them through their own transformations by combining structured fitness with a mindset rooted in consistency and self-belief. My motto is "You can do anything you put your mind to!" Let's get after it!
